 Pat Armstrong

Pat Armstrong
Admin Manager

Pat started in 1995, just before the company got its first computer  and supervised the changeover from the old manual records.  She is  now responsible for the ‘paperwork’ side of things, in particular the company accounts.
Outside work Pat is very involved in Lawn Bowls, - running leagues, coaching and umpiring at national level, as well as playing for her local club.  She enjoys quizzes and crafts, but most often has her head in a book, being an avid reader of almost anything.

 Karen Hopper

Karen Hopper
Sales Co-Ordinator

Karen is our pretty office lady with the lovely telephone manner (when she puts her posh voice on). She joined us three years ago and has shown us that the claims she made during her interview are really true. She can type at a million mph and can smooth talk suppliers into giving her a little bit (extra discount that is!)

Paul Charlton
Contract Manager

Paul started at Turfcare on leaving school at the age of 16 in July 1998 however he had experienced work long before that. His first major contract job, when only 10 years old, was to help in the construction of the cricket square for Durham County Cricket Club in August 1992 – NOT A BAD START!When asked, as a youngster, what he wanted to do when he left school, he always replied “drive a tractor for me Dad!”He now has 10 years experience in most aspects of sports turf management and leads his Contracts team very well.

Mark Charlton
The Contract Team

Mark followed the same track as his big brother Paul gaining the work ethic from an early age. He joined the business in the summer of 2002 and undertook an apprenticeship at Houghall on a day release basis. His tutors included Ian Lacy and big Tony Mears so he was well taught.Mark can turn his hand successfully to operating all the plant we own or hire. He is a well thought of member of staff especially now he has learned how to get up in the morning!

Darren Gray
The Contract Team

 Norman the dog

Norman
The Office Dog

Arrived in March 2007 as a small bundle of blonde fluff with a very long pedigree. A gift to Karen from her partner, who works offshore, he was far too small to be left all day and was brought in as a temporary measure. Now a full member of staff, he is in charge of early warnings and mud inspections. He doesn't actually get wages - but the rest of the staff spend a fortune on doggy treats!
