GRADEN PEDESTRIAN SCARIFIER
What’s so different about the Graden?
It removes much more thatch & fibre than conventional scarification and aeration, at the same time creating less surface disruption.
How?
When using 3mm blades, you’ll impact around 15% of the surface area. When Hollow Tining at say 2x2” centres, you hit around 4% of the green
Deep Scarifying can compliment Hollow Coring
If you're looking for surface aeration and thatch removal, It’s so much more efficient using the Graden, and the recovery time is much quicker.
Plus it creates an ideal environment for Overseeding.
When done in conjunction with Topdressing the process creates sand channels at one inch centres, up to 11/2” (45mm) deep across the entire surface.
These channels not only improve surface drainage and Air/Water permability but aggressively manage the control of thatch.
These sand channels will link sand filled VertiDrain and Hollow Tine Holes that have sealed over at the surface and rejuvenate their effectiveness.
However, deep Hollow Coring is still useful for carrying out a soil exchange programme, but the main target of the Graden is the remove Thatch & Fibre, excesses which are the cause of Slow Soft Greens.
